As a supplier to health care institutions, pharmacare, medical device manufacturers and military, Noble Biomaterials has a responsibility to measure efficacy of all products against the human coronavirus and report that efficacy to their partners. Today, Noble’s customers including Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Agency (BARDA), Argentum Medical, 3M/KCI, Ansell, 3M/Systagenix, US Military and Allied Forces, Toray Textiles Europe, Silvon Bedding, Silverlon, J&J, Silverguard, amongst others, rely on the high quality metalised products manufactured at the Noble Biomaterials Scranton, Pennsylvania facility.

Noble Biomaterials most recently initiated research to better understand X-Static Technology’s antiviral effectiveness against human coronavirus. Procedure was industry standard ISO testing against the virus, the coronavirus most commonly associated with human infections. Findings were that X-STATIC METALISED FABRIC, demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in virus of human coronavirus at the highest viral concentration i.e., a reduction in virus viability was recorded as follows:

  • 98.28% within 30minutes
  • 98.87% within 2 hours

Though the X-STATIC product is registered with the EPA (USA Environmental Protection Agency) as an antimicrobial, the EPA and FIFRA only allow for discussing article efficacy for bacteria and fungi. No company can state viral claims on textiles at this time, currently there are no EPA approved public health claims for virus & textiles.
